EU.ACE Advocates for University Lifelong Learning at Bologna Process Policy Dialogue in the Danube Region

EU.ACE – European University for Academic Continuing Education contributed to the “Bologna Process in the Danube Region – Rectors’ Policy Dialogue”, May 19-20, 2026, an event organized under the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region together with the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.

On behalf of EU.ACE, Universitatea „1 Decembrie 1918” din Alba Iulia presented “Romania’s contribution to the 4th pillar of the Bologna Process”, highlighting the growing importance of University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) within the European Higher Education Area.

The contribution emphasized the need to strengthen lifelong learning as a structural dimension of higher education and underlined the role of European university alliances in fostering innovation, inclusion, flexibility, and societal impact.

The event provided an important platform for exchange among rectors, policymakers, and higher education stakeholders from across the Danube region.
