EU.ACE Week 2025 with general assembly

International university consortium met in Krems to discuss the future of the European Higher Education Area

As part of EU.ACE Week 2025, representatives from all ten partner universities of the EU.ACE consortium gathered at the University for Continuing Education Krems to advance the strategic development of the European Higher Education Area. Coordinated by the UWK and initiated jointly with French partner Le Cnam, the international consortium brings together universities from Western, Northern and South-Eastern Europe with a particular focus on the Danube region.

The central theme of the conference was ‘Peer Support in Transnational Consortia’ – an approach that focuses on students in all their diversity and with their individual learning biographies. Workshops provided a practical forum for discussing aspects such as diversity, leadership and inclusion in international educational cooperation. Key EU.ACE topics such as health, education, STEAM and smart communities were also addressed, as were innovative teaching formats such as micro-credentials and living labs.

A milestone was the signing of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding, which formalises the close cooperation between the partner universities in the coming project phase.
